Office / Studio
I am available to work with clients in-person or virtually (via a secure telehealth platform). My in-person availability is on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. I have virtual availability on Mondays and Thursdays.

My office/studio space is located in the historic Ivy Building in the Seward neighborhood of SE Minneapolis. The Ivy Building is a mixed use building that houses an eclectic mix of tenants, including: visual artists, performing artists, health & wellness providers, light industrial, and other professionals. The Creative Arts Therapy Collaborative is a shared expressive therapies studio environment. I am located on the 2nd floor; there is an elevator available. Free street parking is available in front of the building.

About me & my approach
I feel truly honored to do this work! To be trusted as a listener and collaborator and to bear witness to the stories of others is a privilege. I became an art therapist because, simply put, it perfectly combined two things I felt passionate about. I believe that working with our hands and engaging in creative processes is inherently therapeutic. I believe that process art can lead to deeper understanding of oneself. And I believe that sometimes the art can say what words cannot. A person does not have to be "good" at art to participate in art therapy. The focus is on the process and not the product. I'm also more than happy to "just talk". Even when talking I rely on creative problem solving and I love the images that a good metaphor can conjure up in our minds.
I have been described as warm and casual. I use wit, humor and can be a little irreverent at times. I attempt to dismantle hierarchical structures and resist being seen as an "expert". My goal is to work alongside people drawing out their own innate knowing and expertise. I am a feminist, an ally to those who identify as LGBTQIA+, work to be anti-racist, and dismantle pathologizing systems.

I work from a relational place, believing that a trusting relationship fosters growth and change. Within that therapeutic relationship I will draw on my knowledge of psychodynamic and attachment theory, narrative therapy, internal family systems and trauma sensitive approaches.

I am passionate about lifelong learning and the practice of creative endeavors in day-to-day life. I find joy laughing (hard) with the people I love. I like to do a variety of stitching, take pictures with my phone, create mixed media drawings and paintings, and spend time outside watching things grow.
